PRESKIGE

“After that first year, I enrolled in the ReStartAlp course. The prize was attractive, but I was mainly interested in the opportunity to acquire skills that I didn’t have at the time” explains Eugenio Marsaglia. Thanks to the “on-campus” course Eugenio came into contact with Musement, a service allowing to book tours and cultural events all over the world, and one of Italy’s leading digital companies. That’s where he did his internship. Three of Musement’s four founding partners also decided to acquire a share in Preskige’s capital. “In May 2018 we carried out a capital increase. Alberto Emprin too became a full partner.”

The start-upkeeps growing. Thanks to new investors and the €30 thousand prize from ReStartAlp, the platform was revamped. “At the end of the 2018/2019 season there were about 3 thousand unique users registered on the platform, i.e. 3 thousand “paying” skiers who were customising their skiing experience using Preskige” underlines Marsaglia.
The way the platform was structured also highlighted some limitations, particularly bureaucratic constrains, linked to the VAT exemption regime of ski schools, which penalises freelance instructors. “That winter, a guy I had met in the early years of our activity, Alan Ferrero, started skiing with me again. Alan now works in Barcelona as Digital Project Manager for Fox Racing, a Californian brand of technical sportswear, particularly for the mountain bike sector. Together, we drew up a new business plan, which we presented to the BuilITup accelerator. All this helped us find a new private partner”.
