LIBERI E SELVAGGI

In the summer of 2022, seven years after attending the ‘on-campus’ course, Magia and Sid can gallop free, enjoying a whole hectare of land each, where, from April to October, they can also feed freely and naturally. Liberi e Selvaggi is a member of Uisp (Unione Italiana Sport per Tutti – Italian Union of Sports for All), and the b&b now hosts an educational centre that revolves around horses, but is neither a riding school nor an equestrian club. Children participating in the workshops learn to relate to others and to animals immersed in nature. To this aim – by also involving external people and professionals – Liberi e Selvaggi offers theatre, dance, and yoga workshops and organises performances for and with children, “extensively interacting with Premilcuore, which is our community”, says Martina.

Thanks to Roberta, who works as an auxiliary member of staff at the kindergarten in Premilcuore, the association was entrusted by the Municipality with providing after-school services. Another partnership was established during the Covid-19 pandemic with the local psychiatric residential care home. At the time, Martina worked there as a cleaning operator. . “I got on very well with the guests, so after the lockdown was lifted I was offered to take care of their reintegration into community life. Now, on behalf of the local health unit, we carry out various activities with them, outside the residential centre and in nature, helped by two people” she explains.

Creativity has no limits, so – in addition the activities revolving around training, care and wellbeing – a caravan-bar hosting artists and musicians has been set up at the b&b, which now also hosts the so-called Aperitivi Stralunati (literally Moonstruck Cocktails). “We have learnt to combine the children’s workshops with cocktails and appetizers for the parents, who are pleased to chill out in our very welcoming, cosy farmyard”, she underlines.
